Eddie Golushka’s 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport

From Necessity to Notoriety

Eddie Golushka never set out to build a show-stopping Honda—he simply needed reliable wheels. After wrestling with an aging 2005 Subaru Legacy, he discovered the 2021 Civic Hatchback Sport’s untapped potential: a bargain price, engaging six-speed manual, and a tuning community ready to help him transform it. What began as a practical purchase five years ago has evolved into a 289-horsepower head-turner, earning accolades at Unbound CC/PA meets and beyond.

The Build Journey

Over six years, Eddie’s mileage-mounting hobby grew into an all-out passion project. Early tweaks were modest: smoked side markers, an Injen intake, and a set of Eibach lowering springs. But once the bug bit, there was no turning back.

Eddie credits much of his success to Unbound CC/PA. Although early phases of his build cost friendships, he now enjoys a tight-knit circle of enthusiasts who share parts, tips, and critique—transforming solitary wrench-turning into a social highlight of his week.

“I never imagined this Civic would get the attention it does,” Eddie says. “Between the club meets and our digital community, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see people’s reactions and share what I’ve learned.”
